Nobel Prize

10.22.2007

I was excited to learn this past week that Doris Lessing won the Nobel Prize for literature. I need to read The Golden Notebook, which is considered a feminist classic. This quote of hers is one of my favorites:

"With a library you are free, not confined by temporary political climates. It is the most democratic of institutions because no one - but no one at all - can tell you what to read and when and how."
