High school realization.

6.27.2010

It finally dawned on me. The reason I feel weird wearing any of my North Face fleeces--at least the Denali ones--is that they're like a high school letterman jacket. So cool and hip in high school, but strangely too nostalgic and adolescent-feeling now. I don't want to get rid of them, but I also don't want to really be seen in them.

Totally feel you on this. I think I have the same block. I can wear other styles, but never the ones everyone had in High School. Also...that was unique to L.O. i think?? I haven't met too many other people who had North Face as a status symbol/fad like we did...

Oh don't you worry, it was a HUGE status symbol in little old Parker, Colorado. I wear mine about once a year now. Sigh...

this made me laugh out loud. you should know that all the sorority girls wear these coats with pride. i am not kidding, ALL of them at every university i have been at have a black NF fleece. so either they aren't over high school (incredibly high probability) or the trend hasn't died. love you, love this post!
