That is the best title I could come up with. Or the only one. You decide. My friend Kj had free tickets to see Mary Poppins last night, and as we'd never experienced a musical on stage together before, we decided now was our time.

If you want to know how it was, you can go to her blog and watch the video review we made. Suffice to say, I believe I may never be able to watch a musical again.

If you don't have time to watch the videos (yes, there are two, because we had so much trauma to cover), this picture below that includes the dancing satyrs may give you a glimpse into the horror:

But seriously, you guys, IT WAS ONE OF THE WORST STAGE MUSICALS I HAVE EVER SEEN.

My favorite part of the vlog-y #1. Maryann singing suffragist song.
Favorite part #2 the pshaw on Maryann's face when KJ echos the parent's lame question of "Who are we!?"

OH MY GAWD. My mom and I left last night at INTERMISSION!!!!!!!! And I hadn't read your review yet, but seriously, I was thinking to myself that you would be ashamed of us. I felt like a cultural failure! But I'm glad to know now that you agree. It was TERRIBLE!

Okay, I just decided to exit the world. Matthew Bourne directed and co-choreographed the Poppins. MY Matthew Bourne whose Swan Lake has changed my life. WEll, that explains why I thought the satyrs were so derivative of Bourne's Swans. What I thought was a rip-off, was just un-originality. FROWNY FACE

Oh my word, what a massive disappointment! Matthew Bourne directed the naked statue too. :(
