#292: We're Only In It For the Money by The Mothers of Invention

We're Only In It For the Money by The Mothers of Invention (1968)

Favorite Track(s): "Concentration Moon" and "What's the Ugliest Part of Your Body?" and "Absolutely Free" and "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance" and "Mother People"

Thoughts: I've been wanting to get into Frank Zappa for a while now, mostly because I hear about him all the time, and the guys from MST3K adored him. So he was in the Mothers of Invention! I wasn't aware.

This album was definitely 'out there' but I didn't dislike it. It was creative and strange in an intriguing, fun way that made me curious to hear more from them. Still, it lacked something. I think I expected more 'meat'? Anyway, I hope we see more of the Mothers on this list.

Is This Better Than Help!?: Not to me, but I could see how it would be for other people. (People who do drugs. Kidding!)
