I'm a little obsessed with contact paper right now. For a few bucks and some elbow grease you can remodel your whole home! Well, all the clean, flat surfaces of your home.
I started with my kitchen drawers. I'm not going to do the cupboard shelves because I'm not tall enough to see the results, and the lower ones are full so you can't even see the floors of them. So, just the drawers.
I wanted to get some cute contact paper from Chic Shelf Paper, but who has $30+ to spend on one roll of contact paper? People who aren't cheap, I'm guessing. I was disheartened by the selection at my local home goods store, so I thought I'd check Target.
Their contact paper was ALSO disappointing. Nothing cute or bright or unique. But I was wandering through the kids section and what to my wandering eyes should appear? 'Self-Stick Pattern Rolls' for kids.
Bright? Check. Colorful? Check. Unique? Check, check. Plus, it was only about $11 for the whole pack. But as I looked at the different patterns, a clear favorite appeared. So I 'worked the system' in my usual way. I gently and discreetly opened the cardboard of all three available boxes, and switched out my favorite pattern so the box I was buying had every one of them, plus two I was just OK with. Success! (Please don't prosecute, Target. It was wrong, I know, but the kids won't care about the patterns! I care.)
Can you guess from that photo above which one was my favorite? I call it Rainbow Watercolor Finger-Painting Tie Dye, or RWFPTD for short. I loooooove it, and it spruced up my drawers real good.
As you can see I'm not a professional contact paper-er, but I promise, you can't barely see the mistakes when you're opening a drawer to grab the bottle opener. Probably because you've already opened one bottle, but STILL.

I like you SO MUCH!
Know what I'm obsessed with? The show 3-2-1 Contact. Maybe "obsessed" is a strong word to describe my feelings for a PBS show I haven't seen since the early 90's. Or maybe I just have a lot of feelings! You decide!

Kristen, obsessed is never too strong a word!
I need to have a friend like you to be with me at moments like that, cause I'll always get stuck standing there indecisively, saying "I wish they had a pack made up of the ones I like" and I never have the balls to actually open packages and make switches. Don't know if I'd ever have your gumption.
